Description: "Project MEGSSS is a not-for-profit corporation established to provide a challenging and exciting program for mathematically gifted students beginning in grades 6 and 7. Project MEGSSS provides an opportunity for gifted students to come together in an intellectually stimulating setting without removing them completely from the social setting of their peers. The students study an internationally developed curriculum, 'The Elements of Mathematics,' specifically designed for gifted students. The courses are taught by teachers who are specialists both in the content areas and in working with young, gifted students. The curriculum not only covers most of the standard topics of the junior and senior high school, but presents them in a more sophisticated and extended setting. In addition, a wealth of material, including an introduction to formal logic and many other math topics, is studied."
