My daughter attended UCDS for 5 years; she was in two different classrooms. The mixed grade setting was wonderful. She was highly gifted, as are many of the students, and thrived in a setting where she could work along-side peers that were at different levels of understanding. Children learn much from modeling, as well as watching each other. It was really a fantastic experience for our whole family, and laid the foundation for her recent graduation from a top college.

UCDS is not a program for gifted children. There is an individual approach taken, however dispite marketing claims, there is no accomodation made for children capable of working above grade level. The mixed age groups work against the older students if they happen to be gifted.
