I had to read this book for school and I would recommend this story.

I was disappointed in this book. It had the potential to be another "Phantom Tollbooth" but I found it very dull and contrived. The author went to great length to introduce all of her quirky characters, but the storyline did not engage me as a reader. I passed the book on to my 7 year old (who'd loved both the Phantom Tollbooth and the Number Devil) and he never made it past the first chapter. I think the young author had good ideas but did not execute them in a very interesting manner. I would not recommend this book to anyone. |
