I found this a great book for transition from arithmetic to more advanced mathematics. It was easy to approach, to the point, and didn't use confusing notation. The profoundly gifted student should have few problems understanding the material. However, it doesn't completely fit in with the traditional curriculum for Algebra I, missing some less important concepts and going into Algebra II a little bit.
