Description: Word Roots are workbooks for ages 8-11 or ages 12 to adult. By teaching kids to recognize the prefixes, roots, and suffixes that can reveal a word's meaning, you'll help your students expand their vocabulary, as well as their comprehension and spelling skills. Wonderful for warm-ups or word-of-the-day exercises, each activity introduces Greek or Latin roots, then builds understanding with their English counterparts.

My homeschooled PG son started these books at age 7. Word Roots are his favorite language arts workbooks!

My 9 year old son uses Word Roots to substitute for repetitive classroom vocabulary work. At first, he liked it very much. Understanding word roots breaks open the code. For an avid reader, it was fun to see where words come from.

Each page, while it introduces new word roots, presents the material in a very similar fashion. That means he's finding this repetitive now, too! Overall I'd say the material is interesting, but unfortunately the exercises are pretty much all the same.

I think it is a good resource because it is very fun. This is something I like to do during free time at school when I finish my work.
