Rennaisance High has a long-standing reputation as a premiere high school in the Detroit system. The city's schools, however, are beset with many of the problems of urban schools everywhere, and Rennaisance High is also affected. It is a good resource for Detroit Public School students, in a rather bleak urban school system setting.
