Description: Created by Congress, this organization provides about 20 percent of all of the federal funding that supports American colleges and universities. NSF is the major source of funding for fields such as mathematics, computer science and the social sciences. Included on the website are a listing of awards received, discoveries made as a result of NSF, a number of science publications and much more.

This site should be useful to students who have an interest in the sciences. The sections "Discoveries" and "News" are likely to be of particular interest to students. This site can provide some understanding how large-scale research projects are funded, and present current research projects.
