||Supplementary certificates (formerly called Endorsements) are offered in addition to majors and specializations associated with the degree programs in Bilingual/Bicultural, Educational Diagnostician, Educational Reading Specialist, Gifted and Talented Education, and Special Education. Satisfactory performance on a State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) test is required for provisional or professional certificates in education.

Texas State University - San Marcos offers several cources to people who are interested in earning a graduate degree in gifted education. According to their website "Courses may be taken as part of a M.A. in Gifted Education, part of an M.A.Ed. in Elementary or Secondary Education, or as individual graduate courses that may not be attached to any degree plan."
