Description: Weekend Academy at Vanderbilt University (WAVU) is a residential academic program for 7th to 10th grade gifted students. Students engage in an accelerated two-day course of study designed and taught by Vanderbilt University faculty and scholars. WAVU offers accelerated and rigorous courses on topics not usually included in middle or high school. WAVU also provides an opportunity for students to come together to learn and collaborate with a group of like-ability peers. Some past WAVU course titles include Forensic Anthropology and Bioarcheology, Chemistry of Microfluidics, and Topics in First Amendment Law.
