Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge

This K-12 sustainability challenge allows students to form teams of 2 or 3, work with a teacher/mentor to identify an environmental issue in their community, research it, develop a plan, collect data, analyze that data, and share the results they've found. Prizes include savings bonds, television appearances, Discovery Adventure Trips, and more.

The Craftsman/NSTA Young Inventors Awards Program

The Craftsman/NSTA Young Inventors Awards Program challenges students to use creativity and imagination along with science, technology, and mechanical ability to invent or modify a tool. This competition began in 1996.

The Partnership for Americas Future, Inc. (OH)

The Partnership for America's Future Inc. is looking for some creative students (K-12). Enter any idea for a new way to demonstrate an educational concept, or an idea for a new product (or an improvement for an existing product or procedure). The best student idea in each division (K-8 and 9-12) each month wins $100!!

Young Naturalist Awards

The Young Naturalist Awards, sponsored by the American Museum of Natural History, is an inquiry based research competition for students in grades 7-12. Twelve winners receive cash awards and an expense-paid trip to New York City.

Davidson Fellows Scholarships

The Davidson Fellows scholarship program recognizes outstanding achievements of profoundly gifted young people who have developed their talents by contributing a significant piece of work in one of these submission areas: Mathematics, Science, Technology, Music, Literature, Philosophy or Outside the Box.

Fulbright Student Program - Institute of International Education

Established in 1946, the Fulbright Program aims to increase mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and other countries, through the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills. Sponsored by the United States Department of State, Fulbright provides funds for students, scholars and professionals to undertake graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools.

MacArthur Fellows Program

The MacArthur Fellows Program awards unrestricted fellowships to talented individuals who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction. There are three criteria for selection of Fellows: exceptional creativity, promise for important future advances based on a track record of significant accomplishment, and potential for the fellowship to facilitate subsequent creative work.

Mensa Education and Research Foundation

Funded by American Mensa and other charitable donations, the Mensa Education & Research Foundation is a philanthropic, non-profit organization committed to the pursuit of excellence in the areas of intelligence.

National German Testing and Awards Program

Each year the AATG writes a test to assess proficiency in German. Teachers nationwide can offer the exam to their students. The awards program has been around for 30 years and about 25,000 students take the exam each year.

National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society

Nestle - Very Best In Youth

The Nestle Very Best In Youth program, in partnership with Reading Is Fundamental, was created to recognize young people all across America who excel academically and are working hard to make their communities a better place. Nominees must be between 10 and 18 years old and have permission from a parent or legal guardian to submit the nomination.

Presidential Scholars

Established in 1964 by Executive Order of the President, the United States Presidential Scholars Program recognizes and honors America's most distinguished graduating seniors. Annually, up to 141 students are chosen from among outstanding high school students and invited to Washington in June for National Recognition Week.

Student Challenge Awards Program (SCAP)

The Student Challenge Awards Program (SCAP) was initiated by The Durfee Foundation in 1990. The program strives to excite the imagination and expand the potential of arts-gifted high school students, and to stimulate the students' curiosity about science and technology.

Yoshiyama Awards

This award is given annually by the Hitachi Foundation to 10 high school seniors who have made a significant contribution to their community. Recipients are invited to an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., and receive a gift of $5,000. This is not a scholarship program and recipients may use their award at their discretion. The award is funded by Mr. Hirokichi Yoshiyama, former president and chairman of Hitachi, Ltd. in Japan, with the hope that these youth will incite positive social change.

Young Entrepreneur Award

The Young Entrepreneur Award is an annual award given to a young American entrepreneur. The winner of this award is flown to Akron along with his/her parents/guardians to participate in the gala weekend banquet, ceremonies, and activities.

KAGE/NAGC Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award

KAGE, in cooperation with the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) presents the Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award. This program is designed to recognize the Kentucky student who displays excellence in academics, leadership, arts and community service at a level beyond what is expected of the student's age group. The award offers a $500 savings bond and an NAGC Certificate of Excellence.

Michigan Merit Award and MEAP Information (MI)

The Michigan Merit Award provides $2,500 to high school graduates for outstanding performance on their Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) tests. About 49,000 high school graduates earn the award each year.
