The Rhoades School is a private coeducational day school for grades K-8, located in Encinitas, California. The Rhoades School was established in 1980 to provide a safe haven for the intellectual, creative and human potential of very able children. The children at the Rhoades school receive individual attention from a faculty and staff committed to contributing to each student's fulfillment and happiness as adults.

I found that the educational standards of Rhoades were up to par. However, many of the teachers seemingly restrict the children and can be outright overbearing. The school shelters the children, leaving them unprepared for the harsh reality of high school and college.

The teachers and headmistress of this school are very willing to tailor their program for PG kids, including pullouts and grade skips. The overall curriculum is one year ahead of the standard, and the students are very bright, reducing the age disparity between an appropriately challenged PG kid and his/her classmates. The students are very appreciative of "smarts" in their fellow students, including younger ones. In grades 3/4/5, students are pooled for Math and placed into mixed classes based solely on ability.
