Brianna Paiva

While pursuing her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Nevada-Reno, Brianna had the great pleasure and satisfaction in working closely with our community's middle school, high school, and college students, which included parallel support from several of their families. During her final semester of her undergraduate degree, she had the opportunity to work side by side with Professor Sam Ehrenreich, assisting him in research about adolescents and their correlation between drug and alcohol abuse (ATOD) and social media. The semester consisted of whether social media was an outlet for adolescents experimenting with ATOD. She is very thankful to have worked with Professor Sam Ehrenreich to better understand our community when it comes to ATOD and addiction treatment services.

Brianna mentioned it is an honor to be a contributor to our community, assisting the University, families, neurodiverse persons, and individuals. She is grateful for the chance to help direct their students and families, employees, and community members around educational programs, promoting their specialized needs and be able to provide for their individualized and group trajectories. The information gathered and expansion of knowledge obtained would then be instructive and illuminating for the next individual, company or athlete she has the opportunity to work with.

Outside of the four years Brianna has spent at Davidson, her and her husband are very outdoorsy people, who love to adventure and explore the greater Tahoe area, as well as try new local restaurants. They are welcoming their first daughter in June 2023 and couldn't be more excited to see what this new journey brings them. They have a 1-year-old Golden Retriever, Boca, who tags along for every adventure possible.

A big reason Brianna enjoys working for the many entities of Davidson is the shared goal and passion that is felt at Davidson. All the individual teams and departments continue to come together as a larger unit to support the needs of the profoundly gifted population. Everyone shares the same goal of providing the best education, resources, and support to our students and their families.
