Aimee Cummins

Co-Executive Director

Starting in college as a program assistant for THINK Summer Institute, Aimee immediately fell in love with the mission of the Davidson Institute and the families served by this unique organization. With a background in teaching elementary education, Aimee joined the Institute’s team full-time in 2006 as a member of the Family Consultant team.

Over the course of the next several years, Aimee enjoyed partnering and working closely with families across the nation in supporting the growth and success of students within the Young Scholars community. Her desire to work directly with students kept her closely involved in summer programs year-after-year.

Partnering with Katie Glensor, Aimee is proud to say one of her greatest accomplishments within the summer realm is the creation and implementation of Davidson Summer STARS Camp in 2012. She has also seen much reward in her efforts leading one of the organization’s largest annual events for many years. Aimee wholeheartedly enjoys watching members participating in all of the Institute’s programs create lifelong connections with other like-minded peers and finally find a place they can truly be themselves.

Aimee’s latest endeavors began when she and Katie became Co-Executive Directors for the Institute in 2016. Aimee has the privilege to work with the dedicated and enthusiastic members of the Institute’s team and is inspired daily by their efforts to guide, support, and celebrate gifted youth and their families.

A native-born Nevadan, Aimee lives in Reno with her husband and two children. When she’s not cheering on her kiddos in their various sports and activities, Aimee enjoys watching live music and sports, running, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.
