Events Manager
Kayla joined the Davidson Institute as an intern in January 2014 while earning her degree in Human Development and Family Studies before transitioning to a full-time role upon graduation in May 2014.
During her time at Davidson, she has contributed to a range of areas, from family support and summer programming to program leadership and event management. Her experience in program development, team leadership, and event planning has included helping launch new initiatives, such as the Davidson REACH Summer program and the Davidson Family Retreat. Today, she focuses on creating meaningful experiences that bring gifted youth and their families together for shared learning experiences that foster connections and strengthen their sense of community. She has also continued to expand her knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities with organizations such as the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC), the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT), and the American Camp Association (ACA).
One of Kayla’s favorite parts of her work is witnessing the friendships that develop and the lasting connections families make through Davidson’s programs and events. She values the opportunity to create welcoming spaces where students and parents can grow, discover shared interests, and build relationships with others who understand their experiences.
Outside of work, Kayla enjoys exploring the beauty of Northern Nevada with her husband and three children, traveling, tackling house projects, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying days at the lake. She also loves discovering the unique local events and experiences the Reno-Tahoe area has to offer.
