The Davidson Institute was featured in The Hill in a national piece on gifted education in early grades. Megan Cannella, the Davidson Institute’s Director of Outreach, spoke on the limits of testing and the importance of looking at students holistically:
“We’ve had stories of students who didn’t really understand the impact of the assessment, so they decided it was more busy work and they just blew through it, and maybe it didn’t reflect their best abilities. And so, that’s why we always look at all applications holistically, because we know testing is just a snapshot.”
