Aside from some of the critiques made here about Seven Arrows, it can’t be denied that it attracts a superior cadre of teachers. Even during times of turnover, when as parents we have worried about whether or not our children (son and daughter) will have missed the chance of working with a talented, departing instructor, the incoming faculty member always proves to be just as intelligent, curious, fiercely dedicated, and loving. We roll with some of the school’s growing pains knowing our kids are being taught by some of the best in the field.

We have found this school to be very well suited for our son. They show him a lot of personal attention and the staff is extremely dedicated. The director is fully focused on each students' experience. I have observed that families enjoy good communication with the staff. In addition the graduating students are moving on to great schools. We really like that they have a great academic program as well as cultural and community activities that I view as important to a well rounded education. They are using the latest in learning programs and incorporate subjects such as art and music to teach other subjects such as math.

This school provides academic excellence, and my gifted child's needs have been reassessed and met each year with specifically-tailored programs that have inspired his further growth. Also important, the school doesn't only address the academic needs of the child, it supports and teaches artistic expression and ethical leadership as well.

I really love this school. I recommend it to all kinds of children, gifted aside. It has wonderful projects and curriculum and is the best school I know of.

As a teacher for over 3 years with the school, I can attest to the fact that in the 6th grade, a great deal of resources and personal attention is given to highly gifted students. All of the administrators and the headmaster insist that special books, 1:1 time, and personalized projects are put in place for these children. I was a "gifted" student back in school and I know what it means to be given that added push or range of things to keep me thriving. As a teacher I am very glad that provisions are made for these top students.

I disagree with most of the comments. My son in highly gifted and has been at this school since kindergarden. In addition my son has SID and the school could not be more concerned and caring . I find the director compassionate and especially helpful to me, a mother, when I am facing situations that concern my son & his situation. This is a lovely caring environment in which a child can grow. It is elementary school where self esteem for each child is of utmost concern.

This was not the place for my gifted child. He was much more involved, challenged in an honors program in public school, and for free. As far as working at his own pace as advertised, this did not occur.
Educator on 8/8/2004
This is not a good match for a gifted child. School is marketed as a place where students can learn at their own pace. Diverse teaching methods/opinions are not well received by the director.
Parent on 8/8/2004
Not a good place for a gifted child, IMNSHO. School is marketed as a place to learn at your own pace. We did not find that to be true. There are better resources for gifted children at other private schools and in gifted programs within the public schools
Parent on 8/6/2004
I cannot recommend this school for a gifted child. It's a decent school for the average child. There is only one way to do anything and that is the way the executive director commands. My child was emotionally satisfied but not academically challenged.
Parent on 8/5/2004
Disappointly, we were sold a bill of goods by the director - that the curriculum would be tailored to our gifted child's needs - which never happened. The school is not equipped to handle the special needs of gifted children. There was a considerable turnover of teachers this year (2004).
Parent on 6/11/2004
I disagree entirely with the comments about this school being only for boys with learning disabilities!!!! My son is considered "gifted" by whatever standards you choose to apply and he thrives in this creative and academic school! His classes are interesting, well-run, and creative--so every child is allowed to have access into the learning process--and as a result, his class is filled with caring, empathetic, curious children! He has been here three years, and adores school and learning.
Educator on 3/17/2004
I found this school to be HIGHLY discrimatory against gifted children, especially gifted girls. The school is more geared towards boys with learning disorders and emotional issues.
