The Country Day School (Huntsville, AL)

A strongly held belief that learning should be a joyful experience, consisting not only of the mastery of academic skills, but also of growth in creative and critical thinking, underlies the foundations of this school. Programs center on activities designed to build skills and self-assurance.

I am very pleased with The Country Day School. The children are treated and viewed as individuals and are able to work at their own pace. My son is now in the third grade and my daughter will be starting preschool there in the fall. I had planned to send my children to public school after preschool but have decided to keep them at Country Day through the 8th grade where I know they will excel! All the children are well behaved and well disciplined by the great teachers and staff! I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

This is a fabulous school! It provides a warm and caring place for students to grow and learn. Very international, great arts program, excellent library and beautiful campus. The staff are well trained and most have graduate degrees. We could not be happier with our choice of schools.

My son attended this school for several years. It is an tailored to the individual child. It may not be for everyone, but he benefited greatly.

The Country Day school has provided an excellent environment for my child. Not only has she excelled in her academics but her social skills as well. I feel it is one of the best private schools in the Huntsville/Madison Area.

The teachers and staff are very nice people, but we felt our daughter was not getting the quality of schooling our other kids got in the Huntsville public schools. We took her out of Country Day after her first year because there didn't seem to be enough stucture and focus on fundamentals to meet her needs.

I have two children at Country Day School in the upper elementary classes. They were good students before but Country Day has enabled them to be challenged and achieve more than I expected was possible. The individualized attention and structuring of curriculum allows each one to be challenged in their strong points and nurtured in their weaknesses. Their experience at Country Day School has prepared them to succeed and to excel in high school and all areas of their lives.

The school understands gifted students and provides flexibility for their asynchronous development. Their enrichment programs consist of two foreign languages, art, music (including private string and piano lessons), handwork, and geography. The biggest advantage is that the lead K-2 teacher is a gifted teacher. He really understands their needs and constantly challenges them to think abstractly and creatively. My experiences with Country Day are priceless.
