No services offered for gifted 4 or 5 year-olds. Grade acceleration and gifted classes are not available until the child turns 6. We sought options for our 5 year-old and were turned down despite her clearly meeting criteria for giftedness. We have to hold her back now and at what cost to her wellbeing?

The Boise School District is making strides in their Gifted & Talented classroom offerings. The 2004-2005 school year is the third year of existence of a full-time highly gifted program for 2nd-6th graders.
