Co-Director of Summer Programs
For over a decade Aimee has been a part of the Davidson Summer Programs team. Starting in college as a program assistant for THINK, Aimee immediately fell in love with the mission of the Davidson Institute and the population it serves. With a background in teaching elementary school, Aimee joined the Institute’s team full-time in 2006. Her desire to work directly with students kept her closely involved in the summer programs year after year. She wholeheartedly enjoys watching summer program participants make lifelong connections with other like-minded peers. A native-born Nevadan, Aimee lives in Reno with her husband, Rich, and two children Jerek and Carlee. When she’s not cheering on her kiddos in their various sports and activities, Aimee enjoys running, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.
Co-Director of Summer Programs
Katie joined the Davidson Institute team in 2007 just before graduating with her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Later that year she became a THINK coordinator following her first summer assisting with the program. It soon because apparent that THINK was a great fit for Katie’s passions! After all, she had spent much of her time as a youth attending and working at both day and residential summer programs. In 2012 Katie completed her master’s degree in social work with the goal of continuing to serve children and families. After spending many summers with our nation’s brightest young minds, she continues to find herself most connected to the Davidson community working with the families of profoundly gifted students.
Summer Programs Manager
Jessica has been at the Davidson Institute for Talent Development since 2013. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, she has worked for several nonprofit organizations. Jessica has a passion for program development and organizations that benefit children, so Davidson’s summer programs are right up her alley! She loves seeing the wonderful connections (intellectual and social) that THINK participants make every year—it is a very rewarding experience.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of year-round staff members who, in addition to other roles at the Davidson Institute, act as THINK Coordinators helping to plan and implement a memorable summer experience.
A group of energetic and responsible college students are hired each summer as Program Assistants to live alongside participants while providing 24 hour care and supervision. They also act as class liaisons for each course.
Other support staff members include our program nurse, a night shift supervisor and University affiliates.
