Knowing how your student is doing while at THINK is important! Parents have access to program staff via email and phone while your student is in our care. Additionally, we request that parents remain available via phone throughout the duration of the program, so we can reach you quickly in any of the following cases:
With that said, a member of our leadership staff is always available and accessible to you and your student. In cases of non-emergency, you can always contact a member of our leadership staff via email at THINK@davidsongifted.org. We will do our very best to get back to you within the same day; however, messages sent near the end of the day may be returned the following morning.
Students are welcome to bring cell phones with them to THINK to stay in touch with family. To assist students to be fully engaged with others and their courses, cell phone use is limited to the residence hall.
Students can provide parents with their WebCampus/Canvas log-in credentials if they feel comfortable doing so. However, it is up to the student to provide this information as THINK staff does not store student username and password information. If parents have question or concerns about a course, we recommend that they first connect with their student, as the student will have the most direct access to their assignments and grades. However, our staff is also here to offer support should any additional questions arise.
At the end of the second week of instruction, we will send a progress report via email to students and parents which includes the cumulative grade up through that point in the program. This should help to provide a general idea of what the final grades might look like in relation to the remaining coursework and allotted points available. This will serve as the primary academic check-in with parents.
You are welcome to mail letter or care packages to your student. Please review the following information prior to shipping a care package:
