The Fellows Scholarship awards $50,000, $25,000 and $10,000 scholarships to extraordinary young people, 18 and under, who have completed a significant piece of work. Application categories are Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Literature, Music, Philosophy and Outside the Box.
The class of 2022 Fellows includes many who developed research that with the potential to make a profound impact across the fields of mathematics, technology, engineering and more. A few of these projects are highlighted below.
Arjun Barrett received a $10,000 scholarship for developing a novel software tool can make the internet faster and more accessible to people in developing regions worldwide. Arjun developed a software tool that is freely accessible on GitHub as open-source software and has been downloaded over 60 million times by programmers around the world.

Ayush Nayak received a $25,000 scholarship for his engineering portfolio:
“Upgrading our computer performance almost three-fold, as my work would, would bring about incredible improvements to nearly every aspect of our current lives . . . allowing us to solve more problems more quickly.”

Ethan Wang received a $10,000 scholarship for his mathematics portfolio:
“”My project creates a new method of state preparation that expands the scope of the existing quantum Monte Carlo algorithm to applications such as drug discoveries, industrial manufacturing, and many more.”

Luke Robitaille received a $10,000 scholarship for his mathematics portfolio:
“My project is about mathematical objects called braids, which are formed from strands (like pieces of string or yarn) that intertwine . . . My main theorem is that as the number of strands get larger and larger, almost all of the simple braids with a given number of strands give a “chaotic” mixing.”
