Online Community

Once enrolled in the Young Scholars program, families can register for Young Scholars Private Website (YSPW), the hub of our online community. We encourage Young Scholar families to use this site’s many features to learn of opportunities exclusively for program participants, discover fun and informative resources, and most importantly – to interact with one another. Read on to learn how families can engage with the Young Scholars online community!

Virtual Events
Virtual events are offered to parent and student members of the Young Scholars community to provide active opportunities to directly engage with experts, other program members, and Davidson Staff through a live video platform. We have a variety of sessions to choose from including:

  • Expert Series where parents and students attend a lecture style presentations with professionals from various disciplines to learn about gifted parenting strategies, academic planning, exploring interests, social-emotional skills, and more.
  • Q & A with a Family Consultant, which is a question-and-answer parent session is led by a Family Consultant covering all topics gifted-related.
  • Be Well,  led by our Nuntiya Smith CAPP, APPC, aims to provide parents and students with evidence-based tools for overall well-being.

Program Information
Whether it’s summer programs, online learning options, or accessing individualized support from the Family Consultant team, members can utilize YSPW to stay informed about opportunities through the Young Scholars program.

Resources
Every month, the Family Consultant team publishes Advocate Together, a newsletter with articles on topics related to raising profoundly gifted students.

User Profiles and Member Directories
Get to know other community members! Every Young Scholar and parent can register for an individual YSPW account, giving each user the ability to customize a personal profile, including privacy settings. Discover others in the community through specific searches by city, state, and other details. Reach out and say hello!

Discussion Forums
Connect with others online! These online networks are intended to provide an opportunity for Young Scholars to connect over common interests and build friendships, and for Young Scholar parents to converse and share their insights into navigating the profoundly gifted world. Young Scholar Alums are also able to join in the mix and stay connected through the forums.

Young Scholar Seminars
Learn alongside others in the community! Young Scholars are able to get to know and inspire one another through engaging workshops facilitated by professionals in our Young Scholar seminars. The diverse topics covered offer opportunities to meet like-minded peers and learn something new!
