As an RL parent, this is the first school ever to live up to our very high expectations. Our son is a Davidson Young Scholar and he absolutely loves RL. There is an astonishing degree of talent concentrated at this school, both in terms of the students and the faculty. It richly deserves its reputation as the best secondary school in the nation. It is, in essence, Harvard in microcosm--though decidedly more intimate and with a deep concern for character development. RL's culture celebrates the life of the mind, and a rigorous intellectualism pervades the campus. This is truly the best environment for profoundly--and globally--gifted boys. The faculty will build on a boy's already developed talents, while challenging him to cultivate new ones. Folks in the admissions office at Harvard refer to RL as the "One True School," and not without ample justification. Any parent of a boy gifted enough to gain admission to RL should jump at the opportunity. Trust me, this is one time you (and your son) will not be disappointed!
