Encouraging Reading in Young Scholars

Davidson Gifted Perspectives is a video series that examines a number of different gifted-related issues and viewpoints.

Some gifted students show their interests and talents in a particular area early. In our community, we see many students who show strong number sense and an early preference for mathematics. But parents often think about how “well-rounded” their student is becoming, and they wonder how to strengthen skills that might not be preferred by a child. In this clip, our Director of Family Services discusses how to get a kid who prefers math to read more or engage with storytelling.
