Bob Davidson, Co-Founder

Bob DavidsonBob Davidson is a co-founder of the Davidson Institute for Talent Development and a long-time champion of gifted education. Throughout his career, Bob has balanced corporate leadership with a passion for philanthropy, helping to scale the Institute’s reach and impact.

Leadership and Philanthropy

Bob served as Chairman and CEO of Davidson & Associates, where he guided the company through major growth, including partnerships with Fisher-Price and Simon & Schuster and the acquisition of Blizzard Entertainment. After selling the company in 1997, he turned his attention to philanthropy and education, which led to the launch of the Davidson Young Scholars program and the founding of the Davidson Institute. He also co-founded the Davidson Academy in 2005 and Davidson Academy Online in 2017.

Bob has served in various leadership roles within the educational and civic sectors, including as a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education’s Board of Regents. He also serves on the Davidson Academy Governing Board. He holds a juris doctorate from George Washington University, an MBA from UCLA, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University. He also received an honorary doctorate from the University of Nevada, Reno in May 2010, honoring him for the many contributions he has made to Nevada and the nation.
