Jan Davidson, Co-Founder
Jan Davidson was a visionary educator, software pioneer, and philanthropist whose commitment to individualized learning changed the landscape of education for gifted youth. As a co-founder of the Davidson Institute for Talent Development, Jan’s work focused on ensuring that the nation’s most intelligent young people had the tools, support, and community they needed to thrive.
Educational Visionary
In 1982, Jan founded Davidson & Associates, an educational software company that set a new standard for instructional technology with award-winning products like Math Blaster™ and Reading Blaster™. Recognizing that schools were often unprepared for the needs of profoundly gifted students, Jan pivoted from her successful software career to dedicate her life and resources to educational equity and talent development.
In 1999, she and Bob piloted a support program for 15 profoundly gifted youth and their families, and one year later co-founded the Davidson Institute. Alongside Bob Davidson, she championed the launch of the Davidson Young Scholars program and the founding of the Davidson Academy in 2005. She was a deeply respected voice in the field, serving on advisory boards including the National Association for Gifted Children and the Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development.
