Putting the Thought Process to Paper During the Writing Process

Davidson Gifted Perspectives is a video series that examines a number of different gifted-related issues and viewpoints.

Whenever the Family Services team gets into conversations about writing and language arts with families, there’s always one thing that comes up. Parents always wonder how they can encourage their Young Scholars to more thoroughly articulate their thinking, since what’s obvious to them isn’t obvious to others (like their teachers). We often hear from families that Young Scholars know the classroom material, but they fail to write enough details to explain their answers and their thought process.

Here’s our Director of Family Services to share more about what’s happening in a gifted kid’s brain to cause this and how parents can help their students work through it.
