Supporting Students Through Change
Davidson Gifted Perspectives is a video series that examines a number of different gifted-related issues and viewpoints.
It is surprisingly common in our community for families to change schools. It might come as a bit of a shock because of the stereotype that gifted students are just “good at school.” Often boredom leads to disengagement, which leads to trouble in school.
In a recent virtual event for Young Scholar families, a parent shared that they are changing their 1st graders school again for just this reason. They were curious how profoundly gifted students handle change and how to support them through another school change.
