Advocating for Advanced Math
Davidson Gifted Perspectives is a video series that examines a number of different gifted-related issues and viewpoints.
During a recent virtual event, a family asked how to advocate for advanced math. They said that their student could be doing 4th or 5th grade math, but the school is resistant to their suggestions. In addition, the parents mention that their student does resist doing enrichment math—likely because he’s exhausted after school. Here’s our Director of Family Services sharing some resources and tips for advocating for this common intervention for gifted students.
