Being profoundly gifted can be accompanied by intense emotions that may be difficult to articulate in the moment. Recently, at a virtual event, One Young Scholar Parent brought up how they have been noticing their child dislikes writing and is disengaged during the communication process when he is feeling negative emotions. Instead of talking, he’ll growl or mumble. How can parents help their children work through their intense emotions when they are unable to communicate with them? Here’s our Director of Family Services to share her thoughts.
