Autism and Relationships
Davidson Gifted Perspectives is a video series that examines a number of different gifted-related issues and viewpoints.
During a recent virtual event, a parent wondered if autistic Young Scholars ever find “their people” so to speak. They wondered what relationships would look like for their student in the future, since their student is currently 5. They have scripting tendencies and are passionate about their area of interest, which can confuse their age peers.
Our Director of Family Services outlines some of the different ways that autistic people find one another and join forces. Additionally, she shares sone tips for finding environments for scripting—so that they might find people who are communicating on a similar wavelength.
